Antarctica
is remote, barren and cold; nevertheless, every year almost 30,000
visitors make the trek to this continent. A trip to Antarctica
will be expensive and require long journey times but will reward you
with unspoiled natural beauty. It is incredible that in this
inhospitable place there can also be an abundance of life. On a
trip to the Antarctic you will likely see whales, seals, seabirds and,
of course, penguins. Most travel to Antarctica will depart from the
southern tip of South America. The majority of tourists come via
ship on 9 to 21 day trips with stops along the Antarctic Peninsula and
islands nearby.
